2017 Walleye Derby

VILLAGE OF POINT EDWARD AND BLUEWATER ANGLERS WALLEYE DERBY

6:00 PM August 11 - 10:00 AM August 12, 2017

Ninety one anglers registered for the annual Walleye Derby that was held from 6:00 PM August 11th to 10:00 AM August 12th. Even though the weather was unsettled on Friday evening and Saturday morning, a total of 24 anglers registered their largest catch at the weigh-in at the end of the derby.

The first place prize of $500, donated by the Village of Point Edward, was presented to Brad Hall by Larry Gordon, Councillor of The Village of Point Edward. Brad’s winning walleye weighed in at 1.84 kilograms.

Brad Hall won an additional $100 for the largest fish entered by a Bluewater Anglers member.

Five additional prizes were drawn from all the participants present at the weigh-in. Hot dogs and water/pop were also provided to participants at the weigh-in.

A big “Thank You” to the cook, Alan Boam, and all the other help at the weigh-in. Lou Dallaire and Paul Heckley manned the scales for weighing the fish.
